Anita Rogers is the President and founder of British American Household Staffing. Currently based in New York City, Anita specializes in meeting clients and matching their needs with the firm’s qualified candidates. Anita founded the company in 2012 after several years working for two brand name household recruiting firms in New York. Anita’s years of experience in the industry has sharpened her abilities in both recognizing talent, and understanding the subtle qualities needed in a candidate when making a specific match.
Born in Swanage, Dorset in the United Kingdom to first generation British parents, Anita has a family history rooted in hard work and dedication. Anita’s mother is the daughter of a Czech refugee who made a name for himself as an entrepreneur and small business owner in London, after losing his self-made fortune in Prague. His name was Karel Schwarz. He escaped from Czechoslovakia and fought with the US and Russian armies against Germany during World War II. Anita’s grandmother worked for the foreign office in Prague, spoke 7 languages and escaped to the UK during the war while pregnant with Anita’s mother.

Anita is a British citizen and holds a degree in Ethnomusicology from SOAS (The School of Oriental and African Studies) joint with King’s College London in Western Classical Composition. Anita has a strong background in the arts and is a trained opera singer and harpist (Classical and Celtic). Repertoire includes Handel and O’Carolan. Anita has performed in Italy in Rome, Massa, Lucca, Trieste and Venice.
Anita Rogers speaks three languages: British English, Greek, and Spanish. In addition to being a trained opera singer, Anita also sings music from 1920’s/1940’s era Greece (Rebetika and Smyrnaika) and Turkey. She also writes and records her own songs in Spanish. Her operatic repertoire include Carmen, Delilah, and Dido. She specializes in lieder, especially Mahler. Song cycles include the Ruckert Lieder and Des Knaben Wunderhorn.
